Biomedical Informatics Centre has been a recent addition to the National Institute for Research in Reproductive Health (NIRRH), which is a premier research institute of the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR). The centre is currently engaged in construction of clinical databases, study of antimicrobial peptides and research activities directed towards understanding the structure-function relationships of certain protein molecules involved in human reproductive health.

The broad objectives of the centre are as follows:

a) to develop new methodologies and solutions for prevention and amelioration of diseases of national importance

b) to develop and support databases of specific clinical findings

c) to promote modern biology research in host institute and regional medical colleges

d) to increase awareness of recent developments in modern biology through workshops and training programs
